You want to make a difference.

Your caseload is full of clients who’ve experienced trauma.

It’s heavy and hard, but at the end of the day, you know you are doing the type of work you want to with children and families. Without adequate support and consultation, trauma and attachment work can feel lonely.

I can help.

I support therapists in working with children and families who have experienced complex or early developmental and attachment trauma. The opportunities I provide for professional support are through EMDR consultation including therapists looking to integrate EMDR and play therapy in a more skilled manner and trauma or adoption-specific case consultation.

There are several different reasons why a therapist would seek consultation for EMDR. Your specific goals will shape the type of consultation provided,

Whether you are newly trained or have been using EMDR with clients for a while, engaging in consultations can take your skills and knowledge to the next level.

In working with me, I will help you create a healing environment were your clients feel heard and supported.  You’ll learn how to confidently implement EMDR and gain a strong foundation knowledge of the eight phases in standard protocol.

I am a Certified EMDR Therapist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant.  Individual and group consultations are available.  An initial consultation can be scheduled to discuss your needs and goals in seeking consultation as well as if I am a good fit to provide your consultation. From there future consultations can be scheduled through my online portal.

Basic training consultations can be provided with prior approval and arrangements made with your basic training provider.  Please contact Alyssa directly to see if completing your basic training consultations with her is possible.

EMDR Certification

To be an EMDRIA Certified Therapist you must complete an additional 20 hours of consultation (beyond your 10 hours of basic training).

A maximum of 10 of these 20 hours can be completed through group consultation.

In consultation towards certification whether through individual or group consultations, we’ll work to ensure you understand the procedural steps of EMDR while strengthening your skills in resourcing, treatment planning, and case conceptualization under AIP theory .

CIT Consultation

(Consultation of Consultation)

After you become Certified in EMDR, you are eligible to begin the Approved Consultant.

Consultation of consultation is a collaborative relationship where  the CIT learns how to provide consultation.

Once skills in teaching EMDR have been established the CIT will begin providing consultation to others trained in EMDR.  The focus on consultations between the CIT and Approved Consultant shifts to discussion and examination of the consultation the CIT is providing to others.

Only consultation hours received AFTER becoming a Certified Therapist can be applied towards the requirement towards becoming an Approved Consultant.
